Introduced into the UK in 2014, the ContiRoadAttack 2 EVO has earned a reputation for solid, reliable touring performance in both dry and wet conditions. Last year it was awarded a ‘Best Buy’ and named ‘Best on Country Roads’ in the German Motorrad Magazine during its test of leading sport touring tyres.

Continental has now added the two additional GT specifications to the ContiRoadAttack 2 EVO range;

• 120/70 ZR17 M/C (58W) TL - GT
• 180/55 ZR17 M/C (73W) TL – GT

Aimed at heavyweight touring bikes such as the Yamaha FJR1300, BMW R1200RT and Suzuki GSX 1250 FA, it has been specifically designed to cope with the additional loads these bikes place on their tyres. An additional ply has been added to the carcass of the rear tyre, and the front has also been modified.

GT tyres offer high levels of performance, and benefit from unique technologies such as Traction Skin, which minimizes the need for scrubbing in; MultiGrip, which creates a multi-compound style tyre from a single piece of rubber to eliminate the feeling of step, and the latest Rain Grip compound.

Due to the differences in construction, the new-specification tyre cannot be combined with the following;

• ContiRoadAttack 2 C
• ContiRoadAttack 2 GT
• ContiRoadAttack 2 EVO – standard specification tyre

The new tyre is expected to be available before the end of 2015.
