Oxford’s international business took another significant leap forward in 2014 to become the company’s fastest growing sales channel. The company’s products are now distributed by over 100 companies in 70 countries; export sales of both motorcycle and bicycle products now account for a greater percentage of the company’s turnover than at any time in its history. However, Oxford’s Export Director Chris Shearer regards this as ‘just a healthy start’ to the company’s global ambitions.

“I see this as a game of two halves. In the first half, we’ve got ourselves on the scoreboard; in the second, we need to capitalise on the territory we’ve gained and the opportunities created”.

To support the continued growth of this business, Shearer has expanded his department by taking on Kevin Rooney. Formerly of highly respected lubrication specialist Scottoiler, Rooney will use his significant experience of both the motorcycle industry and international sales to extend Oxford’s global reach.

Rooney’s globe-trotting goals will include supporting Oxford’s existing markets, tackling prospects in new countries and creating opportunities for the company’s burgeoning cycle product range. He is extremely excited by the opportunities ahead: “Shearer and the rest of the team have done an amazing job to put me in clear space, now I need to show them I can put one in the back of the net”.

With such a prolific team united up front, Oxford is sure to be netting another record haul in 2015!
