The dust has settled on another Santander Consumer Finance British Junior Cup but for some of the riders the season is not over.

As part of the prize package for riders competing in the MCE British Superbike Championship support series, 2016 champion Aaron Wright (15) and race winner Taylor Fox Moreton (15) are the riders selected to participate at the forthcoming Red Bull MotoGPäRookies Cup selection process in Guadix, Spain on October 18-20.

Wright, from Newtownabbey, N.Ireland, was the dominant force in the KTM RC 390-powered series; winning 11 races from the 15 he finished, with three further podiums to win the series with three races in hand. Without doubt the smallest and lightest rider on the grid, ‘T-Fox’ Moreton, from Stoke on Trent, also impressed with his consistency, speed and unwavering smile on his way to second overall.

These two talented riders will also be joined by Cup rider Scott Swann from Carrickfergus, earning a place at the selection process by his own merit. The 13-year old made excellent progress throughout the season, picking up five podium finishes on his way to third overall in the series.

RC Cup Series coordinator, Steve Plater, explains his choices: “I was looking for riders who across the 20-race season not only demonstrated speed on the track, but brought a positive attitude to all coaching sessions, a willingness to learn and demonstrated clear progression. Aaron and T-Fox more than qualified for that and I’m so pleased they will be joined by Scott as he was my next choice. Good luck to them all.”

As well as the upcoming chance to fight for a place in the prestigious MotoGP feeder series, Aaron Wright also took delivery of his championship prize in the form of a brand new 2017 125 SX motocross machine from KTM UK General Manager, Matt Walker. A keen off-road rider, Aaron will be using the bike to keep sharp over winter while he finalises his 2017 racing plans.
