MICHELIN INTRODUCES THE POWER RS

October 26 2016.

When it comes to dry-weather grip, agility, stability and peerless handling performance, the MICHELIN Power RS is claimed to stand out as the sport motorcycle road tyre market’s new benchmark* and accordingly targets the most discerning riders.

For a single tyre to boast such a high level of performance in all these areas is the fruit of the combination of Michelin’s longstanding expertise, its experience of top-flight racing and the diversification of its innovations.

The combination of new rubber compounds, some of which are derived from racing, and a new carcass has resulted in high grip on dry roads and a unique experience for the rider.

The innovative rear tyre features a patented construction which benefits from MICHELIN ACT+ technology for straight-line and cornering stability.

The tyre will be available in 13 different sizes (four front and nine rear) covering a broad spectrum of motorcycles, from
300cc bikes to large capacity Supersport machines.

* According to a series of tests carried out by Michelin in 2016 at Fontanges, Cartagena and Ladoux using a 2015-specification BMW S1000RR equipped with 120/70ZR17 (front) and 190/55ZR17 (rear) tyres, comparing the new MICHELIN Power RS with the following competitor tyres: the Pirelli Diablo Rosso 3, the Dunlop Sportsmart 2, the Continental Sportattack III, the Bridgestone S21, the Metzeler M7RR.
