NEW MD FOR R&G

May 13 2013.

R&G has appointed Simon Hughes as its new managing director with immediate effect. Former MD, Richard Taylor, is moving to the position of chairman.

Hughes, former sales and marketing director at the motorcycle crash protection specialist, has worked for the company since its early days, after leaving Yamaha Europe, and has been integral in the company's growth; guiding a product range that has expanded from two lines to over twenty, which are now available in over 40 countries on every continent.

Taylor, founder and the 'R' of R&G, will still play an active part in the company.

On his appointment, Simon Hughes said: "Richard Taylor is R&G and we have together raised the standard of motorcycle crash protection products and I am pleased he will still be involved in shaping the future of R&G.

"This company has been a huge part of my life and I am extremely proud of the progress we have made in my eleven years and I'm excited about this new challenge ahead. R&G is forging forward with new products and new dealers and distributors as it continues to buck downward market trends."

As part of R&G's continued growth, Gemma Woodford joins as a sales administrator, while Martin Jones has been promoted to office manager/export coordinator at the Alton-based firm. Starting as an administrator five year ago, Jones has worked his way up through the company and will now handle the day-to-day running of the offices along with playing a pivotal role in handling the burgeoning export markets for R&G.
