R&G has confirmed its fifth year as an Official Supplier to the BSB series, once again running the Rookies’ Trophy which sees a prize fund from R&G, Pirelli and LS2 crash helmets.

Open to those riders across the Bennetts British Superbike Championship paddock who are competing in their first full season in their respective class, the top two from each championship category at the end of the season will be put to a panel of industry experts who’ll choose the overall top three. This panel will include Steve Plater, Stuart Higgs (BSB), Paul Haskins (LS2), Simon Hughes (R&G) and a Pirelli representative.

The top three will be announced onstage at Motorcycle Live with the overall winner receiving £750 cash as well as £500 of product support from R&G, two sets of race tyres from Pirelli and an Arrow C Evo Helmet Carbon from LS2 with a 2020 Race Support Contract to cover service and product support. Second place will receive £500 of product support from R&G, one front and two rear tyres from Pirelli and an LS2 Arrow Evo Helmet Graphic with service contract whilst third place will receive £250 R&G product support, one set of Pirelli race tyres and an LS2 Arrow Evo Helmet Mono.

Last year, it was Tarran Mackenzie who took first place after a phenomenal maiden season in the Superbike class. 2019 looks set to be a similar story, with a host of eligible riders in the blue riband class; including former MotoGP riders Scott Redding and Claudio Corti. In addition to the trophy, each round Eurosport presenter James Whitham will choose three Rookies to be put to a public vote to decide the Rookie of the Meeting; with the winner receiving a bottle of bubbly at the following round!

Alongside the Trophy, as an Official Supplier to the British Superbike Championship, R&G will again have a large presence in the paddock with its Paddock Support service alongside circuit branding and scrutineering essentials.
