SMALL BUSINESS, ENTERPRISE AND EMPLOYMENT BILL

MPs will begin debating the remaining stages of the Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Bill in the House of Commons this afternoon.


Report stage of the Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Bill will be held over two days in the Commons Chamber. Day one will take place today, Tuesday the 18th of November 2014. Day two of the report stage will take place tomorrow, Wednesday the 19th and the third reading is also expected to take place tomorrow.


Summary of the Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Bill

The Bill contains 142 substantive clauses and 10 Schedules, which in the main seek to reduce regulatory burdens and facilitate the inception, financing and growth of business.

The Bill’s scope includes access to finance; exports; regulatory reform; competition; public sector procurement; the Pubs Code; childcare and education; transparency of company ownership; company law; directors’ disqualification; insolvency; and employment law.
