SUZUKI TO DISPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP-WINNING MX RANGE AT INTERNATIONAL DIRT BIKE SHOW

October 25 2016.

Suzuki is gearing for up this year’s International Dirt Bike Show, which takes place from the 27th to the 30th of October at Stoneleigh Park, where the Japanese manufacturer will display its 2017 off-road range, as well as the RM-Z450 that Thomas Ramette will race in next year’s Monster Energy Arenacross championship as he looks to defend his title.

Ramette became the first back-to-back Arenacross champion in the series’ history when he lifted the pro championship for a second year this year, with the Frenchman in dominant form throughout the tour, taking five main event wins and a further three main event podium finishes from the 11 rounds. He also helped the SR75 Suzuki team lift the team championship with his teammate Cyrille Coulon.

The RM-Z450 that the Frenchman will race in next year’s series as he looks to become a three-time champion will be feature alongside Suzuki’s 2017 motocross range, with the RM-Z450 and RM-Z250 both boasting the second generation of the firm’s proven holeshot assist system, which was developed in conjunction with factory racers such as Kevin Strijbos in MXGP.

The RM-Z450 that 18-year-old Arminas Jasikonis – who has signed for the factory team in 2017 – raced in this year’s MXGP championship when substituting for the injured Ben Townley will feature, along with the RM-Z250 that Jeremy Seewer raced to second place in this year’s MX2 world championship.

Motocross legend Ricky Carmichael made a guest appearance at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, and the RM-Z450 he rode at this year’s event will be on display, alongside Suzuki’s MotoGP replica RM-Z250.

On display from Suzuki’s adventure range will the V-Strom 650XT, as well as the range-topping V-Strom 1000.

Suzuki GB marketing manager, Rob Cooper, commented: “We’re looking forward to getting back to the International Dirt Bike Show again this year, as it’s always a really good event and an enjoyable few days. Having recently confirmed that the SR75 Suzuki team will be looking to defend the pro and team Arenacross championships in 2017, it’s great to be able to display the RM-Z450 Thomas Ramette will ride in next year’s series when he goes for his third title. It’s also fantastic to have two of the GP bikes with us too, along with our motocross range for next year. We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors to our stand over the four days.”

Suzuki can be found on stand A06 in hall 2.
