Bike It International has launched dguard, the world’s first aftermarket emergency eCall system for motorcycles.

eCall is an European initiative, designed to bring rapid assistance to motorists involved in a collision anywhere in the European Union. In the event of a crash the vehicle equipped with eCall automatically calls the nearest emergency centre. eCall will be mandatory in all new cars sold within the EU after April 2018.

Designed and manufactured in Germany by digades, the renowned vehicle electronic specialist has invested millions in developing the technology for motorcycles. The research process involved thousands of hours of rigorous testing over two years to ensure that the system only reacts to ‘real’ crash scenarios. Tested on both road and off-road machinery to simulate all types of motorcycle behaviour, dguard has advanced sensor technology to ensure accurate results.
