ROYAL MAIL COMPENSATION

January 20 2004. Business customers who send out bulk mailings will be compensated at the rate of 1 per cent of their bills for each 1 per cent that Royal Mail fails to meet its national targets under a new compensation scheme that will come into force for this financial year. The minimum payment will be 1 per cent and will increase by 0.1 percent increments up to a maximum of 5 per cent. In a separate scheme which came into force on 1 January, domestic users will be able to claim for delays to first or second class mail, special delivery and standard parcels.
