January 29 2004. Held Gmbh break away from their solid leather image with the new Lenox denim look Airguard fabric jacket and jeans, complete with a detachable lining for warmer days and Knox protection for peace of mind. The jacket sleeves and body are well vented for summer cruising and the ensemble zips together. Retails prices are £146 for the jacket and £72.80 the jeans. And if you're looking ahead to the high summer months, the new Zeffiro summer trousers in polyester comes with knee protection and retail at £61.80.

Held's Aventura trousers are serious gear, stretchable in Cordura and offering a protective Kevlar lining from hip to knee, which the factory's repair service shows is the most damaged area in get-offs. And the new Tristar jacket comes with two removable linings, in mesh and Thinsulate versions and is produced in ladies and mens versions.

The company are famous for their constant advances in the glove range, and the new Vader touring type offers a Kevlar lining at the wrist, carbon fibre moulded under the leather outer and further Kevlar protection for the fingers. Contrast that spec with the Summer Wind for the warmest days, featuring unlined Pittard leather with mesh between the fingers to aid cooling. Very cool, in fact.
