March 12 2004. Our Man In The Trade tells us that Frontline Motorsports of Middlesborough had a squaddie call in with his Piaggio scoot. He had a problem with smooth running and a mate had suggested it was muck in the petrol and that a fuel filter would cure the problem. Could he have one, please?

The man paid for an in line filter, walked out of the shop to his bike and lifted the seat, unscrewed the filler cap, dropped the filter in the tank and screwed the cap back on before riding happily away. Problem solved.
