The organisers of the Annual Weston Super-Mare Beach Race have confirmed that the event will be held in October, but warn that the dates may have to be put back to the 30/31 October, due to the re-development of the Tropicana on the sea front.

RHL Activities, who organise the Beach Race, are responding to concerns that the world-famous event might have to be cancelled due to demolition and building work required for the extensive Tropicana project.

Last year's race attracted an estimated crowd of 80,000.
