May 26 2004. Black Horse has announced the appointment of Linda McBride as the new Merchandising Manager in the UK. Linda joins Black Horse from First Ford where she was responsible for the centralised marketing activity of seven retail car sales departments, as well as overseeing the Marketing Activity for Business to Business and Commercial Vehicle Sales Departments. The appointment takes effect from 4th May 2004.

Linda will be based in Edinburgh and is specifically responsible for the management and strategic development of the Approved Dealer scheme, which was launched in July 2003 and unique to Black Horse. One of Linda's main responsibilities will be to rollout phase two of the scheme later this year.

Black Horse introduced the Approved Dealer programme to help dealers attract new customers, by making it obvious that finance was available at the point of sale, through bold showroom messages and branded regional advertising. Throughout the year, over 1,400 eligible dealers signed up to become Black Horse Approved Dealers.

Linda sees herself playing a central role in ensuring that the scheme maintains momentum and builds on the solid foundations put in place over the last 12 months. She is confident that "dealers, who participate in the scheme, will continue to benefit from increased finance sales as Black Horse products and services are displayed more prominently around their showrooms."

Phil Stones, Managing Director for Black Horse said, "We're delighted to have Linda on board. Her experience and knowledge of marketing and the motor industry will be of great benefit to us as we continue to develop new ideas for the promotion of Finance and Insurance at the point of sale."
