Businesses can now get up to date information and advice on employers' liability insurance and other insurance products, by logging onto the Business Link website.

The site features a definition of employers' liability compulsory insurance (ELCI) and a useful check list to ensure businesses get the right cover to match their needs.

The Department for Work and Pensions published its review into ELCI at the end of last year and made a commitment to help small and medium-sized businesses access simple, easy to understand information on the subject.

Provision of improved guidance and information on the Business Link website is one of a number of actions that the Government is taking to help business. Other actions are postponement of the introduction of the recovery of National Health Service (NHS) charges for EL claims by one year, and review of the need to insure for 300,000 of the smallest single owner-employer companies.
