END OF AN ERA AT PHOENIX
June 30 2004 Phoenix Distribution's Sales and Marketing Director, Bob Kershaw, has announced his retirement after 27 years with the company.

Bob, who retires at the end of June 2004, started working for the James Halstead Group's Belstaff International in 1977 as Motorcycle Sales Manager working with the Arai, Metzeler and Belstaff brands. He quickly progressed through the company, becoming Sales Director in 1992. At this time he was instrumental in the commencement of Phoenix, when the Belstaff company closed and reformed its motorcycling division with just the Arai and Metzeler brands.

As Sales and Marketing Director, Bob has steered Phoenix's expansion from conception, quadrupling turnover, and strengthened the Phoenix portfolio from two to the ten brands it currently distributes today.

Bob will be sadly missed by both the industry and Phoenix. Over the years he has made many friends and is renowned for his enthusiasm and extensive knowledge of the motorcycle trade.

He plans to spend his retirement, travelling, walking, gardening and playing golf and everyone at Phoenix wishes him a very long and happy retirement.

Taking over the role of Sales Director from Bob will be current Sales Manager, John Wakefield, (pictured).

John has been with Phoenix for 11 years and his previous experience was gained working for both Huddersfield Kawasaki and Peter Gleave Distribution. John, like Bob, has been at the forefront of taking Phoenix forward and in this new position will continue to expand the company's growth strategy.

A keen fisherman, John took on his new role from 1st July.
