September 8th 2004.

Motorcycle racer Susie Grayson, from Nottingham, has made it her mission to increase female participation in bike racing. By running Team Bikegirl, she will participate in club racing in the 2005 season with an all-female line-up of riders.

Promoting its aim for a greater number of women competitors, Team Bikegirl is holding an Open Day on the 25th September at Silverstone race circuit in Northamptonshire. The event welcomes involvement from any women interested in taking up motorcycle racing.

On the day, there will be a series of informative talks, guidance from top racers, and prospective riders will have the opportunity to sign up to the team. A demonstration of racing will be supplied by Feisty Racing, the mentoring arm of the team. Media coverage of the occasion will be provided by the national and local Press.

Susie's web site provides an on-line resource for ladies who are enthusiastic about bike racing. The organisation hopes to further advance its cause with a 'Racing Hunks' 2005 calendar, due to be launched later this month. Such projects will help raise the profile of female riders, also generating income for the team.

The Team Bikegirl agenda:
2005: "Fill the BMCRC grid with racing girls and shock the racing world, grabbing plenty of podiums on the way".
2006: "Team Bikegirl will be aiming to move to the National racing arena and, this season, will be grooming the 2005 talent whilst still taking on new girls for their first season, to keep filling the grid".
2007: "Team Bikegirl race in a national championship, plus two teams at club level".

Team Bikegirl is seeking sponsorship for the team for the 2005 season and has many advertising opportunities on offer. Anyone interested should make contact via the web site or e-mail:
