There is good new for dealerships and distributors that have experienced problems when accepting credit-card payments online and/or over the telephone. A new system has been introduced for 'card holder not present' transactions, which is designed to reduce the risk of fraud.

Postcodes Anywhere, an address-management specialist, will introduce the new BACS service at the European Catalogue and Mail Order Days 2004 exhibition, to be held at Earl's Court over November 24th and 25th.

It is claimed the new facility will identify fraudulent transactions and cut down the number of rejected payments for purchases made online or over the telephone. The system speeds up legitimate authorisations and decreases the possibility of criminal activity and operator mistakes.

Postcode Anywhere's new BACS service is available as part of the company's web-based address management system. It operates on a pay-as-you-go basis, making it well-suited to the seasonally fluctuating mail-order market.
