As the 2011 MCE British Superbike Championship season prepares to start at Brands Hatch, Öhlins Racing suspension can be found on six of the title favourite's bikes in this prestigious series. In 2010 the series top three were all equipped with the Swedish quality components to complete a dominant year in MotoGP and World Superbike Championships and log up an incredible 13 out of the last 15 BSB Championships.

Last year's championship winning HM Plant Honda team and third placed Samsung Crescent Suzuki will be joined by the newly formed Swan Yamaha SMR team in using Öhlins suspension for the 2011 British Superbike Championship, creating a formidable line-up of riders and bikes looking to uitilise Öhlins' vast racing experience.

While current BSB Champion Ryuichi Kiyonari is used to riding his Honda on Öhlins, other riders have changed machinery for 2011. Kiyo's team mate Shane Byrne as well as Samsung Crescent Suzuki's fresh line-up of former MotoGP rider John Hopkins and Superstock Champion Jon Kirkham while the Yamaha pairing of Michael Laverty and Tommy Hill have all changed teams and manufacturers since the 2010 BSB season.

Samsung Crescent Suzuki Team Manager Jack Valentine said "We made the switch to Öhlins last year as the Suzuki World Superbike team were using it and we nearly won the BSB championship first time out, which proves how good the equipment is. With Öhlins you know you are getting a quality product and the changes you make to the suspension will deliver results. It's a championship winning product and great to work with."

The HM Plant Honda and Worx Crescent Suzuki squads will both utilise the very latest generation of Öhlins FGR 000 Superbike forks featuring the new TTX25 cartridge design with its lighter yet more rigid outer tubes for improved rider feel. At the rear, an Öhlins TTX36 2011 spec shock with twin tube design keeps traction to a maximum while providing exemplary damping characteristics and uniform performance during race distances. The Swan Yamaha squad have just received their full 'works' Yamaha YZF-R1's with factory componentry.

The BSB race paddock has three Öhlins support vehicles with Harris Performance, Kais Suspension Services and FTR Suspension all catering for different riders and teams.

Chris Witter, Business Development Manager, Öhlins Racing UK commented, "Last year the top three riders in the BSB Championship all used Öhlins suspension, which was a great result and testament to all the hard work and dedication that everyone at Öhlins commits to racing. This year we hope to improve even further on this result and with such a quality line-up of riders, not to mention our service centres providing on-site help to BSB teams as well as riders across all classes, I am confident we will."
