MCI PUTS POSITIVE FACE ON LATEST SALES DATA
October 13th 2004.

The Motorcycle Industry Association (MCI) remains optimistic about the latest motorcycle sales figures. Drawing attention to the growth in the Adventure Sport category, the Association reports that this sector has witnessed growth of 55 per cent over last year.

Other sectors that have increased over last year include Supersport, Dual-Purpose, Trail-and-Enduro and Naked.

Compared to the same month last year, September has also seen a seven per cent increase in motorcycle and scooter sales overall.

Craig Carey-Clinch, MCI's Director of Public Affairs, said: "This month's figures provide further evidence of both the continued interest in motorcycling and the growing diversity of people taking it up... Motorcycling grew by around ten per cent last year while the casualties-per-mile rate fell. [This is] welcome news for everyone."
