YOUTH DAY: Today's successful Youth Day saw sixteen year old, profoundly deaf, Kathryn Wardle scoop the MCI Outstanding Achievement Award trophy. Kathryn, who has been riding since she was 3 years-old was presented with the award in a packed out Live Action Arena by BSB Champion John Reynolds and seven times trials champion Dougie Lampkin.

FLYING HIGH: Cutting his honeymoon in the Maldives short to attend the show, as well as competing for the British Team in Tenerife last weekend, Dougie Lampkin's certainly covered a few miles to be here. Dougie and his boys, including European champion, Tadeusz Blazusiak, Ben Hemmingway and James Dabell have been doing their stuff four times daily in the Live Action Arena (12.30pm, 1.30pm, 3.30pm, 4.30pm). Compare John Price, whose voice is normally heard at Santa Pod, is back at the show for the first time in 3 years "These four are top professional riders who put on a truly entertaining show whether in front of 50 spectators or 1500 - it's not to be missed."

AHOY THERE: Retailer of the Year "Bikers World" have scoured the seven seas to find three fun loving Spanish rogues to help sell merchandise on their stand (R70 in Hall 6). The pirate and skeletal themed stand has attracted huge interest and entertained thousands of visitors. The boys have flown in from Treasure Island, Spain, where they normally spend their days and nights entertaining and selling the World Famous Pirates Adventure Show in Magaluf.

FIGURES - Today the show attracted 11,989 visitors. "Slightly down on last year but the figures are increasing each day. It's been a steady start to the week" said MCIE's managing director Finlay McAllan.
