SUZUKI REPORTS INCREASED FIRST-HALF PROFITS
November 16th 2004.

Suzuki Motor has announced its group sales and profits for the first half of 2004. Profits grew on year, across the board, with the company citing strong car sales and cost reduction.

The Japanese car and motorcycle maker, an affiliate of General Motors, stated that its group net profit rose 14.5 per cent to 28.68 billion yen, from a year-earlier profit of 25.04 billion yen. Suzuki sales grew 7.1 per cent to 1.163 trillion yen from 1.086 trillion yen.

As Japan's largest maker of mini-vehicles in terms of sales volume, Suzuki has kept intact its previous earnings outlook for the full fiscal year ending March 2005.
The company expects a group net profit of 60 billion yen and sales of 2.200 trillion yen for this business year.
