NATIONAL MOTORCYCLE MUSEUM RISES FROM THE ASHES
November 18th 2004.

The National Motorcycle Museum, in Birmingham, which was devastated by fire on September 16th 2003, will reopen for business on December 1st 2004.

Restoring the museum has taken 15 months, at a cost of £20 million.

When the museum reopens on December 1st, there will be about 650 machines on display. Gradually, as further restoration work is completed, more bikes will be added. It is hoped the number of exhibits will reach 800 by 2007.
