Could the industry finally be witnessing an end to the downturn in new-bike sales? It is too early to be certain, but the substantial increase of 17.8 per cent over November 2003 is very encouraging news. Almost 1,000 more motorcycles were sold in November 2004 than in the same month last year.

The trend for increased sales of adventure-sport bikes has also continued. Indeed, the sector has experienced overall year-to-date growth of 17.6 per cent and, for the month of November, last year's sales have been more than doubled. Naked bikes are also more popular than last year, with 15 per cent growth overall.
