'VALUES OF USED FOUR-STROKE MOTOCROSSERS FALLING'
December 8th 2004. Glass's Information Services has reported that values of used four-stroke motocross bikes have started to fall due to maintenance concerns.

High-revving motocross engines are put under great stress, particularly during periods of hard use. Because four-stroke motors are more complex than their two-stroke equivalents, they are generally more expensive to repair or rebuild. This, Glass's claims, is starting to have an impact on used values.
