RMI: 'HAVE YOU REGISTERED WITH THE FSA?'

January 12th 2005. The RMI reports that thousands of motor dealers will be unable to sell insurance from this weekend, having failed to register with the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

From January 14th 2005, dealers selling credit protection insurance, warranties, GAP products and general motor insurance will need to be accredited by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

Louise Wallis, the RMI's business development specialist, said: "Despite numerous warnings, many dealers have failed to act in time and face an uncertain few months, during which they will have the choice of giving up their insurance business or acting illegally."
