ROYAL ENFIELD DEALER CONFERENCE 2006
March 8 2006.
There was plenty to warm the cockles of Royal Enfield dealers' hearts at the annual conference in the picturesque Cotswold village of Blockley, close to the factory and warehouse facility of UK distributors Watsonian Squire.
In spite of seasonably adverse weather, with snow affecting much of the country, over 40 delegates came from across England, Scotland and Wales to hear Peter Rivers Fletcher report that registrations had risen by an inpressive 24% during 2005.
"In the UK, Royal Enfield is now comfortably out-performing other niche European brands like Moto Guzzi and the Bullet is giving the new Triumph Bonneville a serious run for its money too!"
The Royal Enfield factory maintains a close relationship with Watsonian Squire, who they regard as a product development partner.  Ashish Joshi, their European Sales Manager, confirmed that Britain is still a bigger export market than the USA.
Haywards Motorcycles of Cambridge scooped the Dealer of the Year Award for the fourth consecutive year, while John Parker of Southend-on-Sea was highly commended for the biggest overall increase in sales.  Arden Motorcycles form Warks and Rockingham Classic and Sports of Northants were joint recipients of the prize for Best New Dealer.
