BSM Rider Training welcomed the Government's National Motorcycling Strategy, but advised that the motorcycling training industry must work together towards better self-regulation to improve standards.
BSM Rider Training's Mike Loydall said:
"BSM Rider Training has been calling upon the Government to improve motorcycle training standards and the regulation of training for some time, and we whole-heartedly support the forthcoming review of the Direct Access Scheme.
"We are proud to be leading the improvements and already setting standards in motorcycle training through our own core sites and our partnership accreditation scheme, all of which embody high quality standards of training with customer reassurance and excellent facilities.
"BSMRT has undertaken assessments with rider training centres wishing to become BSM accredited.  As a result, we have accumulated a unique perspective and gained information and evidence showing many discrepancies in the standard of training on offer across the industry."
