Nick Palmer will join Suzuki GB Plc on 9 May 2005, taking the position of Director - Sales & Marketing of the Motorcycle, ATV and Marine Division.
43-year-old Palmer is a keen motorcyclist and brings with him more than 20 years' experience in the automotive industry, in particular from Ford Motor Company and most recently from Auto Data Network where he was UK General Manager.
Departmental managers from marketing, sales, dealer development and commercial will report directly to the new Director who in turn will report to recently appointed Managing Director of Motorcycles, Ichiro Kondo.
"We have a strong, young team at Suzuki and Nick will play a key role in steering the company towards even greater success," said Kondo. "We are looking forward to the continued development of our business under his leadership."
Whilst pleased to confirm the new position, Suzuki has announced its regret at losing its National Sales Manager, Andy Pringle, who has decided to leave the Crawley-based distributor to pursue a career elsewhere.
"Andy has made a major contribution to our motorcycle and ATV businesses in the UK during his three and a half years with us and we wish him well for the future," concluded Kondo.
A separate announcement about a new National Sales Manager will be made in due course.
