June 7th 2005.
Essex Air Ambulance has announced the launch of its 2005 Motorcycle Run Online Pre-registration scheme. As in previous years, the registration fee to participate in the run is £5 and to registration can be completed on by following the Motorcycle Run 2005 Registration link.
Last year, more that 150 bikers booked their place using the online registration scheme via the charity's website. The fundraising team hopes to increase this number in the run-up to this year's event, which takes place on Sunday 4th September, 2005.
Jane Lambert, of Essex Air Ambulance, said: 'We are encouraging all bikers wishing to participate in this years run to pre-register, particularly in light of last year's attendance, with more than 3,000 bikers taking part. Bikers can still register on the day but by pre-registering they will be eligible for fast-tracking through to the start-line at Ford Dunton. All pre-registered participants will receive a thank-you letter, biker offers from Stena Line and a sticker for their bike. All they need to do is ensure they place the sticker where it can be easily seen by staff as they arrive at the venue."
Participants in this year's run, sponsored by Stena Line, Harwich, will leave Ford Dunton Technical Centre at 11am on Sunday 4th September, 2005, and will make their way to the finish at historic Harwich. The riders will travel down the A127 to the A130 and on to the A12. From the A12, bikes will be directed to Harwich on the A120. Participants are encouraged to arrive at Ford Dunton from 8.30am onwards.
At Harwich, entertainment will be provided by Essex FM's Martin Day. There will also be live music, a classic bike exhibition, face painting, balloon sculpting, refreshment and concession stands and a fly-pass by the Essex Air Ambulance (medical emergencies permitting).
