Q8Oils have confirmed that they will be joining Leon Haslam and Gregorio Lavilla for their third successive year with Airwaves Ducati in 2007. The last two seasons have been incredibly successful, with Gregorio crowned BSB Champion in 2005 and the team securing the BSB Manufacturers title for Ducati this year. The team will enjoy continued support from Ducati Corse who will be providing them with technically improved Ducati 999F06's for the second year running. In a successful month, the team has also re-signed sponsors Wrigley's Airwaves and Dunlop.
Airwaves Ducati celebrated their season's success earlier this week when they picked up their award for the 2006 Manufacturers title at the MCRCB awards; Leon was also voted 'Rider of the Year' by his peers in a ceremony held at the Motorcycle Show on Wednesday.
Team Manager Colin Wright summed up the mood of the team saying, "We are delighted to have retained the services of Leon and Greg for a 3rd year. The team has achieved many successes over the past two years and we believe we have the best riders to regain the British Superbike crown in 2007."
When asked about the secrets behind one of the most successful teams in the BSB paddock Colin added, "Continuity in a team is a vital element for success and we are proud to announce that Wrigley's Airwaves will continue as our title sponsor together with technical expertise and product support from Q8Oils and Dunlop Tyres".
Prior to their relationship with Airwaves Ducati, Q8Oils supplied lubricants to Rizla Suzuki in 2004, the year that John Reynolds won the BSB Championship for them.   "It's no coincidence that Q8Oils has been associated with BSB success for the past three years and we are confident that in conjunction with Airwaves Ducati, 2007 will be just as successful," notes Denis Stone of Q8Oils.
