|SOMETHING FOR THE WEEKEND...
September 4 2009.
A random mix of murder, intrigue and outright lies to ponder over the weekend. Some people believe some of it. Oh dear...
BEWARE - If you are easily offended, gullible, paranoid, or just not interested, then don't click to read the rest of this rubbish....
YAMAHA TO NISSAN!
Hot on the tail of the news that Yamaha had loaned some spare engineering staff to a Toyota/Panasonic hybrid project, comes news that the motorcycle manufacturer has now loaned some '30 to 40' spare staff to Nissan. Apparently Nissan has an increased demand for its eco-cars and needed trained staff quickly and Yamaha just happened to have a few laying around.
So the Yamaha car connections increase; Toyota, Nissan, who are part owned by Renault, FIAT who sponsor that nice Mr Rossi....
Will they all buy shares in Yamaha?
Nah - They are all in enough trouble already....
The GET ON campaign has stumbled into life off the back of a couple of low-key stories about two bought-in celebs who we are apparently expected to believe have discovered the joys of motorcycling and want to tell the world about it.
All fine and well if you are actually gullible or indeed ill enough to believe in the celeb endorsement route to increased sales, but isn't it about time we had some REAL stories about REAL people to make it all.. well... REAL?
SHOW SOLD OUT
MCI Exhibitions report that the NEC Show is close to sold out and advanced ticket sales are running 4% up on the same time last year.
Well that's waving two fingers at the doubters and shouters....
The MCN Awards have a new format with the presentations being split between the MCIA's NEC Show and MCN's own Excel Show in February.
Interestingly, the MCIA don't know anything about the NEC presentation and MCN has yet to book a stand.....
MCN gave the link to the awards website at www.mcnawards.com but that contains only last year's awards....
One end of the organisation not talking to the other end perhaps?
