Yuasa Battery has announced the availability of its latest maintenance free VRLA batteries for motorcycles and leisurecraft in the UK. The company has also launched a new incentive scheme for traders and installers to encourage sales of higher quality batteries to consumers.

Yuasa motorcycle batteries offer the widest range of references covering over 150 different styles so that users can find an exact match for their original battery.

The MF series maintenance-free VRLA batteries offer a permanently sealed design that never needs refilling. Ideal for motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, ride-on mowers and personal watercraft, the spill-proof design means there is virtually no possibility of leaks. Advanced lead-calcium technology pumps up starting power while a sulphation retardant dramatically reduces battery-killing plate sulphation.

Offering exceptional resistance to vibration, Yuasa motorcycle batteries are the most reliable batteries on the market today and MF VRLA batteries hold voltage longer to reduce the need for charging in standby or storage modes.

To support and encourage traders to offer its full range of batteries to consumers, Yuasa has also created a brand new and exciting incentive scheme - Yuasa Power Points.

The Yuasa Power Points scheme is aimed squarely at the consumer-facing installer/retail level and works across the company's entire motorcycle battery range. Focussing on the choice available to the consumer the Power Points scheme is designed to encourage the installer/retailer to sell the best battery for the consumer's requirements.

With each battery in the range qualifying for a specified number of points, installers and retailers can collect points to qualify for a range of prizes from Yuasa point-of-sale (POS) and promotional materials through personal gifts such as iPods, cameras, wine, PS3, coffee machines etc, to group gifts such as bowling nights and go kart evenings.

Commenting on the scheme, James Hylton, UK sales and marketing manager for Yuasa Battery Sales (UK), Automotive and Motorcycle division, said, "This scheme will encourage installers and retailers to sell consumers the best battery for their needs and provides more than just a wide range of benefits and prizes. It is designed to deliver peace of mind that the consumer will get the correct battery and subsequent customer satisfaction while reducing warranty returns, improving turnover and margin from sales of higher performance batteries and increasing sales volumes."
Yuasa motorcycle batteries are the world's leading brand and are fitted to around 90% of motorcycles at manufacture. The company's aftermarket range can fully match the original batteries for power, performance and reliability. Yuasa is also seeking to appoint distributors and stockists for the range.
