JAPANESE CLOTHING BRAND TO EUROPE
January 14 2007.
Major Japanese sportswear company Goldwin Inc. will start selling motorcycle clothing in Europe, with a goal of achieving 200 million yen in sales in fiscal 2010.
The company will begin selling six types of jackets and one type of pants for spring and summer at five Italian motorcycle shops in February. These Goldwin-brand items belong to the upper-range category, with the jackets priced between 150-570 euros.
The company plans to focus on the Italian market for the first two years and generate brand recognition there because of the large population of motorcycle riders.
By 2010, Goldwin hopes to be selling its motorcycle wear through 50-80 stores in Italy, France, Spain and elsewhere in Europe.
