Vemar has given its VXD flip-front helmet a radical makeover to create this season's most distinctive and eye-catching range.  The new College Collection is inspired by American High School Football helmets, which are brightly painted in the colour scheme of the college.  Not only has Vemar painted the shells in primary colours - the cheek pads are brightly coloured too and the legend "0 ZERO SEVEN 07" is written across the crown of each helmet in metallic grey.
The styling might be fun, but the construction of these helmets is a serious business for the family-owned Italian factory.  The external shell is manufactured from Advanced Thermo Material in 2 outer sizes to give a better balance of comfort and safety across the size range.  Inside is a removable and washable plush lining made from ASP (Antimicrobial Sanitized Protection), which is a refreshing anti-allergic material.  A padded neck roll enhances comfort and helps to reduce wind noise.
Ventilation is provided via two slide-operated vents on the chin bar and two upper extractors on the crown that are push-operated for ease of use, even with gloved hands.
The visor is produced from 2.2 mm anti-scratch, anti-fog treated polycarbonate, with a quick-release mechanism.   Vemar has developed its own One Hand Open (OHO) system for opening the front, via a central button on the chin guard.  Completing the package of functional features is a quick-release buckle chinstrap closure system.
The Vemar VXD College helmet is approved to ECE 22.05 and is available in sizes XS - XL in the following matt colour options; black, white, red, orange and yellow, all priced at £139.99.
