CAR PARKING DEVELOPMENT TO FAVOUR GREENER VEHICLES, SAY DEVELOPERS
February 15 2010.

Latest research conducted by property specialists, movewithus, has revealed that developers are expecting the levels of parking spaces to increase over the next decade for more environmentally-friendly modes of transport, such as smaller cars, bicycles and electric powered cars.

The study, which questioned leading residential property developers across the UK, reported that 90% of responses thought that car parking space for big cars would decrease, whilst 80% said car parking space for small cars would increase.

Parking space for bicycles (94%), motorbikes (70%) and electric powered cars (90%) were also all expected to increase significantly:

Robin King, movewithus director, commented: "In the next decade, green issues will be top of the political agenda once again. I think developers have taken this on board and are expecting to see all future town planning development incorporate changes geared towards helping the environment."
