MICRON 'FINISHES' MOTOGP
February 26 2007.

Micron has announced two new finishes for its award-winning Hydroformed MotoGP silencer range for 2007. The popular end cans will now be available in polished stainless steel and matt black versions.
The two new finishes complement the existing satin stainless steel finish and are expected to be in high demand with owners of the latest crop of supersports machines. The black coating, in particular, offers a highly technical finish and is identical to that used by prestige automotive marques like Lotus and Aston Martin.
It provides excellent thermal insulation for the end can through its use of high temperature resins and ceramic fillers. These ingredients make the coating extremely adhesive and reduce surface temperatures by as much as 40°C.
Micron's Hydroformed MotoGP silencer is a one-piece item formed into shape by the same high-pressure fluid Hydroforming process used on Micron's Serpent race systems. Fitting directly on to the under-body of the original item, the silencers are made from lightweight stainless steel. Overall bike performance is boosted through an weight saving of 20% allied to an increase in engine power.
"Our MotoGP silencers proved to be extremely popular following their introduction last year," commented Micron's sales and marketing director, Ross Clifford. "We believe that these two new superb finishes will improve the aesthetics of many more bikes while improving their performance and widen the appeal of this innovative range even further."
