YAMAHA BACK TO BLACK
May 12 2010

Yamaha Motor has posted a net profit of 7.51 billion yen for the first quarter to March compared to a 15.76 billion yen loss for the same period last year.

An increase in sales in Asia is pinpointed for the change in fortune, while sales in Europe and the US remain weak.

The company continues to predict a break-even result for the full calender year to December.
