MICRON’S NEW MARKETING DUO
May 25 2007.

Specialist exhaust manufacturer, Micron, has a new marketing team to be headed by Arthur Macdonald, who has been appointed as brand manager with a brief to continue the company's recent expansion and global development of its brand.

Macdonald will team up with Charlotte Taylor, who was appointed as Micron's marketing co-ordinator just last month.

Most recently, Macdonald, 42, spent seven years as motorcycle product manager with Bridgestone, before leaving in November 2006 to work on a new project which has now concluded.

"It's 26 years since I bought my first Micron," commented Macdonald on his appointment. "Since then, Micron has become the generic term for performance exhausts in the UK. So it's part of my heritage, as well as that of the UK bike industry, which just adds to the privilege of being involved in what will be a great future for a great company."

Taylor graduated from Northumbria University in 2005 with a degree in Industrial Design. The 24-year-old from Driffield in East Yorkshire, has two years commercial marketing experience and joins Micron after a spell with the Derbyshire Chamber of Commerce.

"My background is product design and manufacturing," she explained, "but I've a passion for marketing. I kind of knew I'd eventually end up in the automotive industry and I couldn't have found a better company than Micron."

Micron's managing director, Mick Slater, added, "We're delighted to be able to appoint someone of Arthur's experience and standing within the industry. Charlotte has a solid product design and development background and great potential. Micron is in an exciting phase of development and these two will help us maximise the opportunities that this represents."
