Honda  expects its total global vehicle sales in 2005 to have risen 5% on year to 3.35 million vehicles, with  its motorcycle sales, showing a 16% surge  to a record 12.5 million units this year.
The forecast volume of car sales and production this year at Japan's No. 3 automaker are both record highs, thanks mainly to strong overseas sales.
Honda estimates its car sales in the U.S. have risen 4% to 1.45 million units this year, while those in Europe have climbed 11% to 285,000 units. It also expects its China car sales to have jumped 19% this year to 260,000 units.
On the other hand, it estimates its domestic sales have fallen 3.1% to 720,000 units.
