Knox Stowaway Gets Extra Cooling for 2006
The award-winning Knox Stowaway back-protector just got cooler, thanks to a number of updates for 2006.
The first ever CE-approved back protector that could be rolled up and stashed in its own sports bag, the Stowaway has continued to evolve since its introduction in 2001 - Rizla Suzuki rider Yukio Kagyama was instrumental in its development during the 2004 season.
Comfort has always been a significant factor for the Stowaway.  At just 550 grams it is the lightest model in the range and believed to be the lightest CE-approved back-protector on the market.  However, its internal honeycomb polypropylene construction ensures that the Stowaway is capable of absorbing massive amounts of energy from an impact and thus comfortably exceeds latest European CE standard for back-protectors (1621-2).
For 2006 Knox has replaced the backing material with Spacer Fabric, a technical mesh that dissipates heat and keeps the wearer cool and comfortable.  This works in conjunction with the waist belt, which is lined with Coolmax® sports fabric and has an antibacterial treatment to keep the rider feeling fresh and smelling sweet.
The Stowaway retains the cross-over shoulder strap system that enables the wearer to cross the shoulder straps over at the waistband, reducing friction around the arm pits.
Available in sizes Small & Large, the new Knox Stowaway Back Protector sells for £59.99 inc. vat.
