HUSQVARNA AB AGREES BRAND LICENCE WITH BMW

Husqvarna has signed a license agreement with BMW of Germany regarding the use of the Husqvarna brand for motorcycles. The agreement was signed in connection with BMW's acquisition of the motorcycle-operation from MV Augusta of Italy, which has now been finalized.

The license agreement stipulates that BMW has the right to use the Husqvarna brand for motorcycles as well as related products and services.

Husqvarna manufactured motorcyles from 1903 until 1987, when the operation was then sold to Cagiva of Italy, which is part of MV Augusta.

Husqvarna is the world's largest producer of lawn mowers, chainsaws and portable petrol-powered garden equipment such as trimmers and blowers. The Group is also a world leader in diamond tools and cutting equipment for the construction and stone industries. Net sales in 2006 were SEK 29.4 billion and the average number of employees was 11,400.
