Having supplied UK dealers direct from Italy for several years, Vemar Helmets has now appointed  The Key Collection as exclusive UK distributor.  Like Vemar, The Key Collection is family owned and run with the added attraction that it has many years' experience of working with Italian motorcycle clothing and helmet manufacturers.
Founded in 1986 in Tuscany, Vemar initially made helmets for other brands such as Shark, which led them to focus on technological development and product quality, rather than superficial marketing gimmicks.  Vemar has the capacity to produce 4,600 helmets per day and Marc Coma won this year's Paris Dakar protected by a Vemar helmet, which is a mark of just how far they have come in 20 years.
For 2006 the Vemar range includes helmets for the road, track and off-road sport, plus specific models for children.  Retail prices start at just £59.99 for the incredibly highly specified TAI2K, complete with quick-release visor and removable lining.  At the top of the range is the VSR race helmet, as worn by Anthony West in MotoGP, which features a compact, lightweight tri-composite shell and quick-release visor with an FIA inspired 'safety catch' to prevent it popping off in a crash situation, priced at £189.99.
Vemar supplies 42 countries and so offers selected models in shell sizes XXS (50cm) to XXXL (66cm) to cater for the widest variety of customers.
In a crowded helmet market, Vemar has created a distinctive range, combining Italian flair for design with very high production values.
Stock was delivered from Italy to the UK warehouse to coincide with the recent range presentation and, with the backing of The Key Collection's national sales force and in-house team, Vemar looks set to make a big impression in UK showrooms this year.
