HONDA TO STOP USA MOTORCYCLE PRODUCTION

Honda Motor Co. has today announced that it will stop making motorcycles in the USA in spring 2009 as part of efforts to improve its efficiency by consolidating production at a factory in Kumamoto.

Honda began producing motorcycles in America in 1979. Last year, its Marysville plant in the state of Ohio manufactured 44,000 motorbikes, including large models, as well as about 440,000 cars.
