Distributor of all things quad and dirt-bike, Off Road Only, has become the new UK importer for LEM, the Italian manufacturer of ATVs and kids' machines.

LEM was established in 1973, and its range comprises top-end racing bikes, intermediate-level machines for junior riders, and fun bikes and ATVs for young beginners. The top-of-the-range racing RX models are powered by an Italian-made engine that produce 17.4bhp, and are equipped with Marzocchi competition racing suspension. Off Road Only claims this bike offers power and handling that is a match for any other bike in this sector the market.

All LEM models are designed and tested in Italy, where research and development also takes place, sourcing and selecting the best parts for reliability.

Can LEM machines get anywhere near Chinese imports, in terms of price? Off Road Only's Andre Zembrzuski answers this question with an assertion: "Customers are being put off buying bikes from China because they cannot get the back-up. Simple parts like gaskets and sprockets are impossible to get. This means the bike is a throw-away item as soon as it breaks down, with no sell-on value. The big selling strength for LEM is a full parts back-up across the range, so a bike can be repaired, and it will have a sell-on value when the child has out grown it."

LEM models now available in the UK include:

Racing RX65 (14/12ins wheels/Morini Engine).

Racing RX150YX 14/12ins wheels/150cc four-stroke).

Intermediate DX2 Beta 50cc (12/10ins wheels).

Intermediate DX2 Beta 50cc (14/12ins wheels).

DX150YX (14/12ins wheels).

Condor kids' 75cc ATV.

Condor junior 150cc ATV.

An all-new range of electric LEM kids' fun-bikes and ATVs will be available from March. Given the rising of cost of fuel, these electrically powered bikes might well prove highly popular.
