Lambretta, the iconic Italian scooter manufacturer, is set to return to the UK next month with new distributor WK Bikes already taking orders from its nationwide dealer network ahead of the June delivery date.

The newly-revived Italian Lambretta company showed two new models on its stand at last year's Milan motorcycle show, the Ln 125 and Ln 150, and both these models will be coming to the UK. The two models share identical styling, which is clearly based upon the original 1950's and 1960's models, but with the advantage of modern suspension, brakes, electronics, a four-stroke engine with CV transmission and galvanised steel body panels.

Prices have not been finalised yet, but according to Henry Maplethorpe, the sales and marketing manager at WK Bikes, they will be "in the region of £3300 including VAT."

"We are delighted to have finalised the deal to import Lambretta. It's a brand with a lot of history and the heritage is clear to see in the styling of the new models. They have retained the classic lines, but underneath all the technology is bang up to date," said Maplethorpe.

There is a full English section on the Lambretta factory website at and dealer listings and news will be added over the coming weeks.

WK Bikes is expanding its dealer network in a number of areas.
