EMAP TO HOLD FUNDRAISER FOR SUDAN VICTIMS
September 22th 2004. Emap's press release:

Many of you will have been moved by the horrific images of the crisis in Sudan. Here at Emap Automotive we have also been moved, resulting in Sales Executive Sarah Thomas and Sales Director Gareth Ashman taking action. They have organised a fun day out at Daytona Raceways to raise money for the Sudan emergency appeal.

As I am sure many of you are already aware, one million people have been forced to leave their homes as a result of the civil war that has claimed the lives of over 30,000 people in the Darfur region.

Amnesty International reports horrific stories of, "Women and girls being killed, raped and gang-raped, raped in public, abducted, tortured and forced into sexual slavery." It is this humanitarian crisis that has prompted Emap Motorcycling to organise this go carting event, which they invite you to participate in.

The event will be a three-hour endurance race to take place on Tuesday 28th
September between 11am - 4.30pm.
Thanks are given to Daytona Raceways in Milton Keynes who generously donated the use of the course at a vastly reduced rate. Anybody can enter a team; teams must consist of between two and six people. Emap Automotive will be entering several teams of their own to compete against the trade teams.

The winning team will receive £7.5 thousand worth of advertising across the Emap Automotive titles MCN, Bike, Ride and Performance Bike.

Our thanks are extended to: Feridax, Grand Prix Legends, NXGN, Taylor racing, Frasers of Gloucester, Wolferstans solicitors, Performance Parts and Chesterfield motorcycle centre who have already entered their teams in the battle for this great prize.

By entering a team you will be donating £500 to the appeal, which is just less than £100 per person! For this you will get a cart for the day, race set-up for a team of 6 and lunch.

We need 25 teams, no matter how big or small as every penny counts.

For further information and to sign up your team, please contact Mary Lamb on: 01733 468073.
