The board of the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCI) has decided that its services should be limited to two- and three-wheeled vehicles. The Association will have no future involvement with Quadricycles (road-legal quads).

Currently, the MCI offers a limited technical service for members that have direct dealings with Quadricycles. This service will be removed at the end of the year. The affected members will have to make alternative arrangements.

It is hoped that the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Trade (SMMT) will extend its services to incorporate Quadricycles.

The MCI's decision follows in-depth discussions about the advantages and disadvantages of its Quadricycle service, as well as the suitability of ATV-derived vehicles (namely, Quadricycles) for road use.
