BOS has introduced  silencers to enhance the looks and performance of the latest generation of supersports machines.
Owners of the new Suzuki GSXR600 and 750 can replace the stubby stock silencer with a small oval type that is only 300mm long. It has been designed to be mounted without the need for a bracket on the silencer, thanks to a neat bracket attached to the adapter pipe.
The silencer itself is reinforced so it is as strong as the big, original item, which is situated under the engine.  The replacement system is a 4 into 2 into 1 configuration.  In addition to the substantial weight saving of 4.2 Kg, owners will benefit from a power gain of 4.5 - 5 Hp without any adjustments. The BOS GSX-R600/750 silencer is EC approved and fitted with a removable dB eater. Prices start at just £275 for the aluminium version. Stainless and carbon options are produced for £300 and £325 respectively.
BOS has used their popular superbike silencer to create a racing style version for the new Yamaha R6.  The silencer is shorter than the OE item and has a 60mm adapter with a bracket that is welded to it for a clean and neat mounting. There is a modest performance gain, in the region 1.5 Hp. De-restricting the silencer has a limited effect on the R6 because the primary exhaust unit is mounted discreetly under the engine and is hidden from view by the belly pan.
Like the GSX-R model, the R6 silencer has a dB eater, which can be removed from the tailpipe. In titanium it tips the scales at only 1.1KG, over 30% lighter than the OE item. Customers can choose from two EC approved finishes, priced at £325 in carbon version and £300 for the titanium option.
