PIRELLI RIDERS LAY DOWN RUBBER AT DONINGTON PARK BEFORE BRITISH SUPERBIKE ROUND
September 9 2011.

Pirelli trackday riders experienced a day to remember at Donington Park just before this weekend's British Superbike event, in the company of the Samsung Crescent BSB squad.

Pirelli's BSB technicians were on hand to advise on tyre selection, wear and pressures whilst riders had the chance to win tyres and branded clothing. Riders who took part in the 'sold out' trackday rode for just £25 and then received a £25 cashback towards new Pirelli tyres.

Samsung rider and local hero Jon Kirkham took time to mix with the 200 odd riders who were getting to grips with the iconic circuit, saying "It's great to see so many fellow Pirelli riders having fun on the track, it makes me want to get the weekend started already! My aim this weekend is to take the confidence and bike set-up from Cadwell and use it here at my local circuit. There's still the Riders Cup to aim for but I really want to mix it with the top guys this weekend." Kirkham's team-mate John Hopkins was scheduled to attend but had a shocking journey from the airport after flying in from the States.

With plenty of Pirelli staff at the event two of the company's well known Sales Agents took the opportunity to show their skills from yesteryear. TT winner Iain Duffus and ex-British Superbike Champion Terry Rymer proved they hadn't 'lost it' as they showed riders the lines around the circuit.

Pirelli Moto UK National Sales Manager- Todd Rutt said, "This is the sort of event we love to run, with riders of all levels experiencing our tyres and giving us feedback. Riding Donington with the BSB teams setting up in the paddock really added to the atmosphere and it was great to have the Crescent riders here today. Our technicians have been busy with advice and information so it's been a great event all round."
